I'm surprised it has taken you this long in life to run this experiment.
I've tried it various ways through the years, and it has never worked, even with mere drops of dishwashing liquid. The suds are just too powerful. No dishwasher can contain them.

Wow. Yeah, that's something you only have to learn once.
It can actually work if you use like a teaspoon but no more...
also reminds me of the time the washing machine flooded!
